XIAO in Fashion: Anouk Wipprecht’s Hypnotize Dress

It’s not often that our beat intersects with high fashion, but when it does, it’s often as the result of Dutch designer and engineer Anouk Wipprecht's incredible FashionTech prototypes. Her latest, the Hypnotize Dress, is a collaboration with neurotechnology company g.tec and features a brain-computer interface that adjusts the speed at which hypnotic patterns rotate on eight chest-mounted displays.

The hypnotic visuals are provided by eight 1.28” 240×240 Seeed Studio Round Displays, each in turn powered by a XIAO ESP32-S3, with an additional XIAO managing the LEDs. g.tec’s Unicorn BCI Core-4 EEG headset outputs a concentration score between 0 and 100, adjusting the hypnotic rotation speed in real time.
